Dear friends & family,

As many of you know I have lived with Type 1 diabetes since I was 9 years old. Along the way I have faced challenges of dealing with day to day management of food, insulin, activity and trying to keep my blood sugars level! Despite these challenges I have lived a full and healthy life and wi continue to do so! I am grateful for the never-ending love and support of my wonderful family and friends, the expertise of medical professionals and for the wealth of education and support available through Diabetes NSW & ACT. 

So now it is my time to give back to this amazing organisation that has provided me, and more than 1.3milion Australians living with diabetes, lots of support, information about all aspects of diabetes, research and advocacy to continue to live life to the full!

I have set myself a goal to take part in the 104km Great Ocean Road Trek in November 2022.  I am also honoured to be sharing this journey with my friend Jenny - an experienced hiking enthusiast. She will keep me motivated in this endeavour for sure and there will be lots of laughs and chats along the way. Part of this goal is for each of us to raise $3500.00 for Diabetes NSW & ACT.
